One thing for certain: the FAA has been busy rewriting many of their texts! We're the first in Houston to get them! With the cold snaps, aircraft batteries are big sellers this time of year we have the G25 and G35 you need, in stock. We’re also Part 107 drone certified! September/December 2016: September marks our three year anniversary at our current location. Great news that the local 100LL Self serve is now $3.42. Fall is festival time in Texas! With avgas so cheap, it’s time to go flying again. One of our favorite events is the Under the Wire Fly In near Louise (T26) 9/23-25/2016 http://www.texasstearmans.com/fly-in.html . A little farther from home is the Reno Air Races 9/14-16/2016 As in prior years, AirPro plans on supporting local pilot Nathan Harnagel. You typically see Nathan flying the silver T-6 with Spanish Air Force markings http://www.texanflight.com/ This time he’ll be piloting a L-29 http://racingjets.com/race_pilot/Nathan%20Harnagel . Long time locals, be sure to mark your calendars for the Andrau Airpark Reunion on October 8, 2016 at Fair Weather Field (TX42) near Monaville. In other news, aircraft sales have seen an uptick, and we’ve performed several pre-buys through the summer. Bay Area Aero Club has expanded with a new clubhouse and now offer multi-engine training. We’re also proud to say the resident P-63F is now making the rounds on the airshow circuit. AirPro was part of the team that helped get this historic aircraft flying. July/August 2016: The heat is on! Over the July 4th weekend used the opportunity to expand and rearrange our pilot shop. The new arrangement will make it much easier to find the headset accessories you need and free up our glass display for more cool merchandise! The new PPL and IFR ACS should be coming any day, we'll have them in stock the first week of July. Also, the 2017 FAR/AIM and Study Guides will be arriving soon. We pre-purchased quite a few of the FAR/AIM and will pass on the savings on to you. New in the shop is our placard/sticker book. We have the stickers you need, some of them are quite humorous! Welcome Veracity Aviation! They specialize in helicopter training with their Robinson R22. In expectation, we loaded up on helicopter supplies, including headset adapters you need to convert your GA headset to helicopter and vice-versa. Development at the airport continues along at a good clip. Steel has been erected for the Phase 1 T-hangars. We have several unique planes scheduled to for annual in July, including a turbo Skymaster and on the other side of the spectrum a Alon Ercoupe. We appreciate the support. If we don't have it in the AirPro Pilot Shop, we can get what you need on most orders the next business day. We're both a Sporty's and Aircraft Spruce distributor! Our deliveries arrive around 3 pm with UPS. As always, look for us under the rotating beacon at the exit of taxiway A3, if arriving by land yacht, look for the WWI Ace Snoopy in the parking lot. June 2016: The rain continues! Inside the hangar, the Ercoupe is nearly ready for flight, we're currently installing a new custom interior in a Mooney, the PT-26 finally has new wings and has taken flight, among many other projects too numerous to mention (see our thread below)! The AirPro Pilot Shop now has a large variety of professional pilot shirts, we're expanding the sticker collection, and now carry a full range of AN/MS O-rings for your rebuild projects! (We carry the 5606 hydraulic fluid you need too!) The airport continues to be a hotbed of development activity. Phase 1 T-hangars have had some weather delays but cement has been poured on about half the plats. Phase 2 (the hangar homes) have been announced. The exterior of the large private hangar being built just to the south of us is nearly complete. Rumor has it a Citation may live there! Comcast and AT&T have completed running cable throughout the airport and YES we finally have real internet with a guest account. The guest wifi password is airpro2016 and the signal goes fairly far out to the ramp for your last minute Foreflight updates! Also in the first month, our Twitter account has started to take off with nearly 50 followers, check us out at @airpropilotshop Both the Twitter and Facebook account are linked (and the FB thread is below) so you won't miss a thing! The Grumman Pancake fly-in was a big success, despite being MVFR most the day. Randy and airport manager Adam cooked up some mean blueberry pancakes and the Starbucks coffee was courtesy of Pearland Regional Airport! We hope to do another flapjack event again once we get to cooler weather.
May 2016: This past month has been a very wet one we're getting tired of all the rain! We've been working on a variety of planes, including help returning the P-63F to flight status and adding a Stearman to the mix! The airport has been a hotbed of development activity. Phase 1 across the taxiway is going full speed ahead. Also a large private hangar is being built just to the south of us. Comcast and AT&T have completed running cable throughout the airport. Speaking of technology, we finally gave in and started a Twitter account @airpropilotshop both the Twitter and Facebook account are linked (and the FB thread is below) so you won't miss a thing! We've added a new sign visible from the ramp and check out our new Snoopy sign at the front door! Thanks to Houston Yard Art.
March/April 2016: The AOPA Rusty Pilot event on 3/26 was a huge success. Some 50 pilots showed up. Of course, AirPro was there and gave away several nice raffle prizes, including a headset! The event was so successful that AOPA will host another in October. Speaking of events, rumor has it the airport management will be hosting another Open House sometime in May. Look for announcements soon. This past month has been busy. We've been working on a variety of planes, including the P-63! It runs great and just a few more items before she graces the skies again. In other news the airport has also been undergoing quite a bit of development with Phase 1 and individuals building hangars. Lots of construction and heavy equipment. We expect to welcome our new neighbors soon! In addition, both AT&T and Comcast have been running cable throughout the airport. Bring on the high speed internet! Speaking of technology...Apple users try: "Hey Siri, navigate to the nearest Pilot Shop!"
February 2016: The Cessna 337G has flow several times, and we're now just chasing squawks associated with getting the old girl in tip top shape! The wings of the PT-26 are nearly ready to be reattached to the plane. They are beautiful works of art! AOPA stopped by late last month and showed us the 'new' Cessna 152 Reimagined. At the Pilot Shop, new inventory continues to roll in daily. We'll soon carry R.A.M. mounts for your GPS and smart phones. We're very impressed with the R.A.M. products, and they top quality products for your aviation application! Development continues all around the airport daily. We can't wait for high speed internet to appear in early March! We appreciate the support.
